Commercial Insurance Each business has unique exposures because even in the same industry each business can operate very differently from others. Despite this, there is a basic set of coverages that will cover those businesses’ common exposures. The most common exposures are Commercial Liability, Commercial Automobiles, Workers’ Compensation, Business Income, and Business Property. These common exposures can be covered in a variety of ways and, until we can speak in person to get a deeper look into your business's unique situation, we’ll describe the general ways these exposures can be covered.
  • Business Owner’s Policy BOP
The most well-known small business policy is the Business Owners Policy or BOP. BOP policies include protection for building, contents, liability, business income, extra expense and employee dishonesty among other coverages. The most important thing about a BOP is that it is generally pre-packaged meaning it comes pre-configured with coverages so it reduces the complexity of the policy. However, BOPs are designed for certain types of businesses and not all qualify. Contact Hayes Agency today to see if a BOP policy is correct for your business.

  • Commercial Package Policy
A commercial package policy combines property insurance (buildings, business personal property, inventory, equipment, etc.) and liability insurance (premises liability and products liability) in one policy. The most important thing about a Commercial Package Policy is that it is highly customizable and can be tailored to fit your business’s exact needs. CPPs will work for any business so contact Hayes Agency today for help in designing a policy that is correct for your business.

  • Commercial Liability
General liability insurance is the coverage which protects your business against damages caused to other entities. Components of this insurance can include: bodily injury for damages to others; property damage for damage to others’ property; personal injury for damages not caused directly to the body or property of the injured party; and advertising injury for damages caused by defamation or false advertising. Important, additional coverages for general liability are products liability for damages caused by your company's products, premises liability for damages incurred on your property, and professional liability to protect service professionals against damages caused by services rendered.

  • Commercial Auto
Commercial auto insurance covers a variety of vehicles types, drivers, and some motorized equipment. The coverage includes bodily injury liability, property damage that is caused by a company vehicle, medical payments, and personal injury protection (PIP). When designing the commercial auto coverage, hired and non-owned vehicles can also be covered. Hired and non-owned auto liability would apply if the business is renting vehicles or employees are using their own vehicles.

  • Business Property
Business property insurance provides coverage for buildings, inventory, equipment, tools and more. It can protect against losses due to fire, break-in, vandalism, and wind among others. A business property policy can vary widely between different insurance companies. When considering business property coverage you must consider the value of the buildings in which your business operates, the value of business property in those buildings, and the personal property in those building. You should have enough business property insurance to cover replacement costs of all three. Hayes Agency will work with you and to correctly estimate the replacement cost of your property and ensure it is correctly insured.

  • Business Income
Business income, or business interruption, coverage protects a business owner against income lost while a business is closed due to a covered loss. This coverage can also be used when income is lost due to certain events that require government authorities to limit customer access to your business. Hayes Agency recommends all businesses acquire this coverage.

  • Worker’s Compensation
Workers’ compensation coverage pays can pay for the medical care and physical rehabilitation of employees injured at work. It helps to replace wages lost while an employee is unable to work. Workers comp coverage could cover the costs of medical disability case managers, utilization management nurses, certified life care planning nurses, vocational rehabilitation consultants, physician consulting services, contracts with medical network providers, and a managed prescription drug program.

Every situation and every policy is unique. Let us review your policy and make sure it truly meets your needs. If you need new or different coverage, we will help you get a policy that will provide you with better coverage.
